Our older preschoolers are ready to explore music and its many different forms. With a heightened curiosity towards all musical instruments, now is the perfect time to introduce them to new instruments and focus on matching steady beat (not to mention we will be exploring the pure joy of instrument exploration!). We will be encouraging them to finding their singing voices and exploring their vocal range and pitch with more accuracy. Preschoolers are notorious for loving to talk and we encourage them to do so. Sharing ideas to drive forward our lesson focus is fun and productive in a loving and accepting environment. We also know our kids love to move and are prepared to funnel their energy into creative activities. Get ready for some summer Level 4 fun!

SUMMER 2022 DRUMS, DRUMS, DRUMS!

Tap your fingers, your hands, on the table, on your lap. Just say the word DRUM and any child within earshot will be ready to play. Children love to drum on just about anything, and drums can be found in every culture. In this unit, we focus on drums, percussion instruments, and music from Africa and South America. We learn about echoes as well as sing, clap and play to a variety of games and songs. Our story features a boy who explores a variety of drums from around the world. Get ready to catch the beat in a big way this summer.
